THE CORE PROBLEM
South Africa’s public transport system is complex, fragmented, and deeply unequal. So the issue is not just access, it is behavioural resistance to change. This means that any solution cannot force behaviour. It must work with existing habits, not against them.
Through my research, I found that public transport challenges in South Africa are primarily behavioural rather than infrastructural.
